On the northern margin of Kozjansko, which is the hilly region enclosed by the rivers Savinja, Voglajna, Bistrica and Sava there rises an imposing hill called Rifnik. Owing to its conical form it dominates the region below and gives special charm to the Voglajna Valley.The steep and impassable eastern and northern rocky slopes are protected by the river Voglajna, while the western and southern terraced slopes are easily accessible.
